What inspired you to start 2-1-Fore Golf?

I was working in banking previously and am planning to be a dad soon. The people at the bank were great, but the atmosphere and long hours made me a version of myself that I wouldn't want to bring home to a kid. So, I decided to take the chance to do something I could love before time and money were spoken for with kids. For me that was indoor golf. I am equal parts tech nerd and golf enthusiast so it has been a great fit.

What makes 2-1-Fore Golf stand out from other companies?

The indoor golf market is becoming increasingly crowded. We built 2-1-Fore Golf around three things that allow us to compete: affordability, game improvement, and a membership experience people actually want to be part of. This makes indoor golf accessible to casual golfers, not just those who play enough to justify an expensive membership. We also invested beyond simply putting simulators in a room. Our facility features five industry-leading Golfzon NX simulators, an in-house golf professional focused on helping members reach their goals, and free leagues and tournaments that create a genuine social community. The experience extends beyond golf with a soundproof coworking pod, member lockers, eight TVs, a high-end sound system, and a self-service refreshment and coffee area. Our goal is to give DFW golfers of all skill levels an affordable place to play more, improve their game, and feel like they belong while never compromising on quality.

What has been one of your most memorable customer success stories?

There is a group of friends that comes in almost every day and booked over 60 hours between two members last month. At first I thought offering unlimited memberships at my golf simulator meant I would resent the heavy users, but I have actually grown to be friends with them. It's reassuring to know other people love the place as much as me.

What advice would you give someone before they start working with you?

Be respectful to others and treat the facility like it's your own. It's unstaffed most of the time so I rely on people being considerate to others, cleaning up after themselves, and not being reckless in a way where anyone would get hurt or break anything. So far people have been awesome.

Where does the name come from, and where do you want to take it?

Our name, 2-1-Fore, is based on the Dallas area code 214. The brand we are building is hyper local and unique to the area.

An interview is what somebody told us, printed as they said it. It is not a GolfSpots selection, and nothing here has been through the standard. What it takes to be selected.
